Bring your 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm films for archival inspection and projection. Admission is FREE and families, friends, and home movie lovers of all kinds are welcome! We’ll have door prizes, share helpful tips on caring for your films and play some Home Movie Bingo!

Home Movie Day at the Archives Bazaar

Join us for the first-ever Home Movie Day at the Archives Bazaar, as part of the Day of Preservation! FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! This special edition of Home Movie Day will highlight Southern Californian home movies from the collections of Archives Bazaar exhibitors, as well as providing hands-on demonstrations of moving image preservation. Are you part of an institution or organization that holds home movies in your archival collections, but lack the staff or resources to provide dedicated preservation and access? If so, this Home Movie Day is for you! Any Archives Bazaar exhibitors or attendees are welcome to bring their home movies to be inspected and projected by trained archivists, time permitting.

USC is minutes from downtown Los Angeles and is easily accessible by major freeways and the Metro Expo line. Doheny Library is located in the center of campus, adjacent to Alumni Park and across from Bovard Auditorium, on Trousdale Avenue. Come and celebrate the diversity of stories that make Southern California such a place of discovery for anyone with an interest in the region’s history. At the Los Angeles Archives Bazaar, presented by L.A. As Subject and the USC Libraries and now in its 12th year, a broad array of institutions and archives will have experts on hand from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to show off their collections and answer questions. In addition to the wealth of information on display from exhibitors, day-long programming will feature preservation workshops and special presentations.
