Introducing the Home Movie Archives Database
The Home Movie Archives Database (HMAD) is a survey of home movies and amateur films in archival collections in the United States. The goal is to create a directory of amateur film holdings in American archives, libraries and museums so that researchers and documentary filmmakers can find home movies more easily. To start, collections and individual films from more than 200 archives are included. The films are searchable by title, description, and creator and the archives are searchable by name and location.

The project was made possible through support from the Library of Congress and the Council on Library and Information Resources.
