Historical Background:

"The reason for the placenta burial is because I keep everything, (I was really upset when the cat ate the stump of her umbilical cord that I was saving in a little origami box)...I wanted to have a link from the earth to her birth for all organic reasons. Plus that made me feel a tie to my own mother and grandmother. And the pompass grass was my husband's choice. I am not sure of why, though he likes things that are tall."
