This year\, the event was held for the first time\, and we were able to borrow films from 11 families and groups. 8mm film of about 7 hours and 20 minutes and DVD footage of about 3 hours were collected. Filmed from 1955 to 1986. At the event\, about 5 hours of footage will be screened. Screening location is the conference room on the third floor of the Hayama Port Administration Office.

DESCRIPTION:Since 2020 the Cinemateca de Bogotá has been carrying out activities framed in this celebration\, and this 2022 we want to extend a special invitation to citizens in general who have in their personal archives\, family or amateur memories in audiovisual format (especially 8mm\, super8\, 16mm\, Betamax and VHS)\, which account for family memories\, historical scenes\, travels\, home or amateur creations\, among other records that are owned by them or belong to their family. Through workshops at the Fundación Patrimonio Fílmico Colombiano and the Cinemateca de Bogotá\, we will carry out a workflow for inventory\, identification\, preparation\, digitization (depending on the physical conditions) on October 14th and 15th and subsequent presentation at one of the Cinemateca’s cinemas on October 16th\, with the aim of celebrating home movies with memories in motion. \nThis activity culminates with an exhibition of family films and audiovisual creations made in homemade or amateur formats\, some as a result of the workshops and others selected by the Cinemateca de Bogotá and the Fundación Patrimonio Fílmico Colombiano to commemorate the Home Movie Day. \n(Spanish version)\nLa Cinemateca de Bogotá\, Gerencia de Artes Audiovisuales del Idartes y la Fundación Patrimonio Fílmico Colombiano se unen a la celebración mundial del “Home Movie Day” – Día del Cine Casero\, cuyo lema este año es ¡Cualquier día puede ser el Día del Cine Casero! ¡Any day can be Home Movie Day! el cual es impulsado por el Centre for Home Movies (U.S.A) el cual cuenta con actividades organizadas por anfitriones en todo el mundo. \nDesde el año 2020 la Cinemateca de Bogotá\, ha venido realizando actividades enmarcadas en esta celebración\, y este 2022 queremos extender una invitación especial a la ciudadanía en general que tenga en sus archivos memorias familiares o amateur en formato audiovisual (especialmente 8mm\, super8\, 16mm\, Betamax y VHS)\, que den cuenta de memorias familiares\, escenas históricas\, viajes\, creaciones caseras o amateur\, entre otros registros que sean de su titularidad o pertenecientes a su familia. DESCRIPTION:The Opelika Public Library will be hosting (so far as we know) Alabama’s first Home Movie Day on Saturday\, Oct. 8\, 2022\, presented by the Opelika Auburn Film Arts (OAFAC). \nFrom 9-11:30\, OAFAC’s technicians will teach those who bring films the proper methods of keeping and maintaining films. We will clean the films and do what we can to make these archives playable. We will also offer resources for transferring films to a more accessible and less delicate form. \nAfter a lunch break -12:30 – Dr. Andrea Kelley\, Associate Professor in Media Studies at Auburn University\, will offer a brief introduction to the event. \nAfter that we’ll show as many films as we can before 5:00. Depending on the community response\, we may have to limit time so everyone can get a glimpse of their films. \nOAFAC is choosing to focus on reel-to-reel films for our first go at this event. DESCRIPTION:Home Movie Day is an international annual celebration of all things 8mm\, Super 8\, and 16mm (https://www.centerforhomemovies.org/hmd/).  Our events in Palm Springs coincide with Modernism Week\, in part\, because this audience understands and appreciates the concept of preservation and is interested in our shared cultural heritage. \nWe invite you to go digging and bring your own home movies (found\, borrowed\, purloined) for inspection and projection ON ORIGINAL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT. Trained volunteers will handle your films and give pointers on how to keep them\, where to transfer them\, etc.  Films will be handled and shown on a first-come-first-served basis and we ENCOURAGE audience participation (film guardians are free to narrate to the best of their ability and the audience will help identify places\, cars\, buildings\, and/or years).  This is a family-friendly event and you don’t need to bring films to have fun!  Play Home Movie Day Bingo for valuable-ish and locally-donated prizes.
